Exhibition MMA bouts don’t dissapoint in Amarillo

with 2 comments

And to think, Jesus “Hollywood” Ramirez thought he was the one bleeding.

Ramirez notched a first-round win in an exhibition bout with a fighter I could only identify as Cole. The referee stopped the fight 1 minute, 16 seconds into the contest because of a nasty cut over Cole’s right eye.

“At first, actually, I thought my nose was bleeding,” Ramirez said after the fight.

But Ramirez scored the only victory of the night for Amarillo’s Mixed Martial Arts and Athletic Center against crosstown rival school Scorpion Lair. MAAC’s other two fighters, Ben and Junior, both lost in decisions.

Ramirez now has a fight at Tulsa’s Mokawk Park on Saturday against Jason Broom as a part of the Extreme Fighting League. The two had been scheduled to fight earlier this year, but injuries forced it to be rescheduled.

  2. Fixed that sentence, I think. Jesus’ face was pretty messed up after your fight, looks like it was a good one. Wish I could’ve been there.
